This presentation will review 2 pediatric vestibular clinical cases. Using these clinical cases as a guide, Dr. Janky will review the overall prevalence of dizziness / vestibular loss in children, which children are candidates for vestibular assessment, which vestibular assessments are appropriate given the child’s age and vestibular assessment modifications for testing children.

Kristen Janky, AuD, PhD, CCC-A is the clinical coordinator of Vestibular Clinical Services and Director of the Vestibular and Balance Research Laboratory at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha NE. She sees patients one day a week in the vestibular clinic and spends her remaining time in research-related activities. Her overall research focus is on the clinical assessment of dizziness and balance disorders in patients of all ages, with a particular emphasis on vestibular assessment and management in the pediatric population. She received her PhD from the University of Nebraska in 2009 and did a post doc fellowship at Johns Hopkins University from 2010 – 2011.
