Course introduction:
This presentation will introduce different types of speech material for use in clinical audiology. Case studies will be used to illustrate how these materials are presented, validated and interpreted for management of hearing needs in children of different ages.

At the conclusion of this eseminar the participants will be able to:

  • Understand different methods of speech presentation for individual needs

    Dr. Josephine Marriage

    PhD

    Josephine is Director of Chear, an independent centre for second opinion of hearing andamplification in infants and children in England, UK. She is a clinical scientist in paediatric audiology and conducts research around amplification strategies and speech testing in children. Josephine has developed and run training courses in clinical testing in European countries, China and Lebanon (Website is www.chears.co.uk)

    Josephine studied speech and language therapy at UCL prior to obtaining a masters qualification in audiology from Southampton University. She conducted her doctoral research into hyperacusis in Williams Syndrom under the supervision of Prof John Bamford at the University of Manchester.
