Mastermind Series - Lateral Canal BPPV and Treatment

07oct6:00 pm7:00 pmMastermind Series - Lateral Canal BPPV and TreatmentJoin this eSeminar - Lateral Canal BPPV and Treatment with Dr. Bernardo Ramos / 6 PM - 7 PM CEST

Event Details

Lateral Canal BPPV (LC-BPPV) variant accounts for 16 to 31% of the BPPV cases. This variant is characterized by linear horizontal nystagmus beating to the same side (geotropic) or to the opposite side (apogeotropic) of the head turn in the supine roll test. Health professionals should be aware of the diagnostic tests for LC-BPPV since the knowledge of the side affected is critical for successful treatment.  Additionally, the importance of several repositioning maneuvers proposed for apogeotropic and geotropic LC-BPPV should not be overlooked.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this seminar the participants will be able to:
• Describe the diagnosis tests for LC-BPPV
• Recognize the side affected in cases of LC-BPPV
• Describe how to perform the repositioning maneuvers for the treatment of apogetropic and geotropic LC-BPPV
